Well, after reading all these testimonies of clothing manufacturers cheaping out and dumping toxins into our undies, I’d say it’s time we boycott all clothes and live as God intended. Hanes is about to go bankrupt, but you’re not supposed to know that.
Just this past year Fruit of the Loom and Haynes have both started putting pesticide in their under wear. I stopped buying any of it because in my opinion they are poisoning us. Here are the facts.

“MIDLAND, Mich.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Odor protection and moisture wicking are the top two performance features consumers today desire and The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) and Fruit of the Loom are introducing DUAL DEFENSE™ performance features that offer long-lasting odor protection and moisture wicking to its core men’s underwear line.
“When companies like Fruit of the Loom and Dow collaborate to apply breakthrough technology to consumer products, positive outcomes occur,” said Larry Ryan, business president, Dow Energy and Water Solution. “Not only does the marketplace benefit from these positive outcomes, but so do companies which will fuel future collaborations.”
The collection of men’s FRUIT OF THE LOOM® underwear with DUAL DEFENSE™ will be enhanced with INTELLIFRESH™ durable and long-lasting freshness protection from Dow. INTELLIFRESH™, powered by Dow SILVADUR™ antimicrobial technology, utilizes a patented, smart delivery system that enables long-lasting protection by minimizing the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabric surfaces".
When you look up “silvadur” on a msds from Dow chemical you will find that it is an antimicrobial and is listed as causing skin irritation, eye damage, harmful if inhaled, and toxic to aquatic life. The ingredients are listed as Nitric Acid, Silver Nitrate, and Imidazole acrylic ester copolymer. That last is classed “Trade Secret”. If you look up “Imidazole”, you will find that the EPA lists it as a pesticide and is considered toxic..
Hanes is doing the same thing, only they call it “Fresh I.Q.” Notice the use of words to promote things used in industry today to give you the impression if you buy into these scams that you are “smart”. Like “smart” meters, etc.
In my opinion after looking up all of the dangerous chemicals they are putting in these clothes you will have a lot of problems if you buy them. It may take years for some to show up in some people, but others that are more sensitive could show up right away. Stay away from anything with advertising words like “intelligent” “Smart”, “I.Q.”, etc. So far they are all scams and are are very potentially bad for you in many ways.
